Assam Industries and Commerce Minister Bimal Borah on Sunday handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to each of the two bereaved families in Karnataka. He visited the residences of Bharat Bhusan and Manjunath Rao, victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, and expressed his condolences. The state government is providing financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of each of the 26 victims of the April 22 attack.
Minister Bimal Borah visited the residence of Manjunath Rao in Shivamogga, where he handed over a cheque to Rao's wife, Pallavi. He then traveled to Bengaluru to visit the family of Bharat Bhusan and presented them with the financial assistance as well.
In a post on X, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared Bimal Borah's post and commented on it. "As the family of Manjunath ji comes to terms with the irreparable loss, we express our collective solidarity to the family in these tough times. My colleague Shri @BimalBorah119 has extended a token of support from the people of Assam to the family to help them in this hour."

Borah said the Assam government stands resolute with all the victims of the dastardly attack during these trying times.

Assam cabinet ministers have been visiting bereaved families across the country since Friday to personally handover the financial aid.
Speaking to reporters, the Assam minister said that, following the directions of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the state government has decided to provide compensation to all 26 victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. He affirmed that the Assam government stands in solidarity with the bereaved families. The minister was accompanied by MLC D. S. Arun and district BJP unit president N. K. Jagadish.
Earlier, Assam's cabinet ministers visited the homes of three of the 26 victims of the Pahalgam massacre to offer condolences and financial support on behalf of the state on Friday. Cabinet Minister Prasanta Phukan visited the residence of J.S. Chandramouli in Visakhapatnam, who lost his life in the terrorist attack, and conveyed the solidarity of the people of Assam. Another Cabinet Minister, Keshab Mahanta, met with the family of Indian Navy Lt. Vinay Narwal in Karnal, Haryana, and handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh as compensation. On Saturday, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu visited the residence of the late Neeraj Udhwani in Jaipur, Rajasthan, to extend condolences and support to the grieving family.
