Bank Holiday Today: Owing to the festivals of Dussehra (Mahashtami/Mahanavami) and Durga Puja, banks will be closed today, October 11 in many states of India. While online banking services will work, bank branches will remain closed across many states, RBI notified earlier. In the notification, the federal bank declared a total of 15 bank holidays in the month of October.
The October bank holidays include festivals and national holidays. Some of the holidays were due to the recently concluded state assembly elections.
October 11 Bank Holiday Today
Bank holiday today is observed in places where Dussehra, Durga Puja and Aayudha Puja are being celebrated on October 11. West Bengal, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand are among the states impacted by the closure.

According to the Reserve Bank of India website, October will see most holidays on accounts of festivals. Here's the list of October Bank Holidays in India -
October 12: Due to Vijayadashami and Dusshera banks will be closed in states like Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.
October 14: Banks in Gangtok will be closed on October 14.
October 16: Banks will be closed in Agartala and Kolkata on account of festivities.
October 17: Bengaluru, Guwahati and Shimla will see the bank closures.
October 31: Due to Diwali, banks will be closed across most of the states in India.
