BAPS Hindu Temple In Paris: The BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir in Paris is expected to be completed by 2026. The construction of the BAPS temple in Paris began six months ago at a site sanctified by Pramukh Swami 36 years ago with a symbolic shower of flowers. The temple’s construction is progressing rapidly. Here's a glimpse of how the temple's interiors will appear once finished.
BAPS Hindu Temple Details and Features
The Hindu temple, spanning approximately 5,000 square meters, is located in the Basse Saint-Georges area of Paris. According to sources, the first floor will house a large community hall, a library, an exhibition center, and a dining area. The second floor will feature the main temple, where idols of deities including Lord Shankar and Parvati, Ganesh, Shriram and Janki, Shrikrishna and Radha, Hanuman, Swaminarayan, and Gunatitananda Swami will be enshrined.

Timeline of Key Milestones
July 7, 1970: Yogiji Maharaj paused at Le Bourget Airport in Paris and envisioned a spiritual hub in France, urging Pramukh Swami and Mahant Swami to sanctify the land.
May 4, 1988: Pramukh Swami Maharaj blessed Paris by showering flowers from the sky, reiterating Yogiji Maharaj’s vision of spreading peace and spirituality across Europe.
August 2, 1995: The first traditional Hindu temple in Europe was inaugurated in Neasden, London. Shortly afterward, Pramukh Swami Maharaj expressed a divine vision for a Hindu temple in Paris.
October 16, 2017: Yann Dubosc, Mayor of Basse Saint-Georges, met Mahant Swami Maharaj and confirmed the allocation of land for a multi-faith Hindu place of worship.
October 19, 2021: Ishwarcharandas Swami performed a Vedic ceremony on behalf of Mahant Swami Maharaj to consecrate the site.
September 3-4, 2022: With the blessings of Mahant Swami Maharaj and senior Swamis, Anandswarupdas Swami conducted the foundation stone-laying ceremony.
2022–2023: The planning and testing phases began, including stone selection and contractor finalization.
July 13, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with BAPS representatives in Paris to review the project’s progress.
April 19, 2024: Mahant Swami Maharaj, in Sarangpur, India, finalised the temple's designs and blessed them by writing the French word 'Bénédiction' on the blueprints.
June 4, 2024: Construction officially began with the laying of the first foundation stone during a traditional Hindu ceremony.
