An Andhra Pradesh woman who went to Kuwait for work has released a video claiming that she has suffered severe physical and mental abuse from her employer. Sharing a video online, she has reportedly urged Andhra Pradesh Minister Ram Prasad Reddy to "save her" from torture.

Identified as Kavitha, the woman is a native of Annamayya district in Andhra Pradesh. "Please save me, sir. I am being tortured here. I have two children and a disabled husband. I came to Kuwait for their sake, but I am being subjected to injustice here," she can be heard saying in the viral video.

Kavitha's condition reportedly deteriorated when her employer in Kuwait locked her in a room and denied her food. She claimed she was effectively under house arrest at her workplace, and the agent who arranged her travel had threatened her, blocked her phone, and prevented her from contacting her family or authorities.

Responding to her request, Reddy has written to Union Minister Kondapalli Srinivas requesting his intervention to secure Kavitha's safe return to India.

The incident highlights the problems and sufferings of several migrant workers who have moved to the Gulf countries in order to seek jobs and earn a living. The workers face exploitation and abuse under the Kafala system, which ties their legal status to their local employers.
