West Bengal Assembly Election: With just a few weeks remaining in the West Bengal Assembly election, all the leading political parties have intensified their campaigns. Along with appealing to the voters through traditional methods, the candidates are also campaigning in unique ways to stand out. The candidates have adapted several methods to show their connection with the voters, including shaving their beards for free, ploughing their fields, and cooking foods for them. The candidates asserted that with changing times the electoral methodology has also changed significantly.
Dubrajpur- BJP MLA Anup Kumar Saha took the role of barber on Wednesday to connect with the voters. He offered to shave a voter's beard for free, while taking his feedback during the process. His video went viral on several social media platforms, with netizens appreciating his unique approach.

Hooghly's Pursurah constituency- TMC candidate Partha Hazari was seen cooking rotis in a clay oven in a voter's house. While talking to the reporters, Hazari claimed that he wanted to highlight the alleged shortage of LPG cooking cylinders.
"The people over here are happy that a local boy has been made a candidate. I am the son of this area, and I visited everyone’s home so they can get to know me," Hazari was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
Pursurah constituency- BJP MLA Biman Ghosh was spotted ploughing fields for the voters during his campaign to show his connection with the rural voters.
Goghat constituency- TMC candidate Nirmal Maji was also seen helping a voter with cooking in his mud house. Maji, who is also a doctor, was also seen examining patients with a stethoscope during his campaign.
While TMC's Naresh Chandra Bauri was spotted playing handi phod in the Birbhum district, BJP's Goghat candidate Prashant Digar was seen helping a farmer in his potato field. The West Bengal Assembly elections will be conducted in two phases on April 23 and April 29, 2026, with the counting of votes scheduled for May 4.
