Bengal Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Kolkata, has forecast rain and thunderstorms in various South Bengal districts including Kolkata. These weather conditions are likely to be accompanied by gusty winds speeding to 30 to 40 kmph. Kolkata will remain dry on Monday and Tuesday. Dry weather will also prevail in Howrah, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, Burdwan, Birbhum, Murshidabad, and Nadia. Rain activity with thunderstorms is likely in all districts of South Bengal on Wednesday and Thursday, June 11 and 12. North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Birbhum, Murshidabad, and Nadia have been put on a yellow alert for these two days. There will be no large change in day temperature (maximum temperature) during the next two days. However, the temperature is likely to fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius in subsequent three days over Gangetic West Bengal.
When it comes to North Bengal, light to moderate rains will occur in the northern districts throughout the week. IMD has however issued no warnings for North Bengal. There will be no major change in temperature in North Bengal in the next five days.
