In separate news, a school bus carrying around 20 children got stuck in a large pothole on Balagere–Panathur Road in Bengaluru on Friday morning, forcing the students to be rescued through the emergency exit. The bus tilted after its wheels sank into a water-filled trench, leaving the children stranded on the muddy roadside until traffic police, passers-by and another bus driver helped them reach safety. Residents said they have repeatedly complained about potholes, incomplete drains and flooding in the area, but no permanent solution has been implemented despite Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s visit earlier this year. Parents have now urged schools to direct drivers to be cautious and press authorities for immediate road repairs. Civic officials assured preventive measures.
