Bengaluru Bandh: As normal traffic in Bengaluru on Tuesday stood disrupted in view of the "Bengaluru Bandh" called by several organizations including farmers' association to protest against the release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu, airlines have issued travel advisory for its passengers as transport takes a hit in the Karnataka capital. 

Vistara Advises Passengers To Allow More Time For Their Journey: 

"Due to the 'Bengaluru Bandh' on September 26, 2023, private transport might be disrupted. Customers travelling from Bangalore are advised to allow more time for their journey to the airport. Thank you," the airline posted on 'X', formerly Twitter.

IndiGo Recommends To Arrive Early Before Departures

The IndiGo has recommended passengers to arrive at least 2.5 hours before domestic departures and 3.5 hours before international as travel time to Bengaluru airport may take longer than normal due to the strike in the city. 

"Travel time to Bengaluru airport may take longer than normal due to Bandh declared in Bengaluru. We recommend arriving at least 2.5 hrs before domestic and 3.5 hrs before international departures. For flight status, visit http://bit.ly/2EjJGGT," the budget airline tweeted.

Report At least 180 Minutes Prior To Departure: SpiceJet

“Due to the Bangalore Bandh declared on 26th September 23, local transport facilities may be affected. Passengers are advised to allow sufficient time for their journey and report at least 180 minutes prior to the departure time to avoid any last-minute hassle" SpiceJet posted on 'X'.

Security personnel have been deployed in several parts of the city to maintain law and order as fewer people ventured out with normal traffic being disrupted. The bus stops in Bengaluru saw less passengers as vehicles from Tamil Nadu were stopped while they were coming to Karnataka due to the strike.

Schools and colleges in the city have also been given a public holiday and employees are to work from home due to the shutdown.
