Bengaluru Bandh: As various organisations in Karnataka have joined forces over the Cauvery River water issue, the capital city of Bengaluru will witness a complete shutdown amid a bandh call on September 26. The Cauvery Jala Samrakshana Samiti, Federation of Farmers' Associations, Federation of pro-Kannada organisations and organisation for the Bengaluru Resident Welfare Associations have come together to give a consolidated call for Bangalore Bandh on Tuesday.
These organisations will hold a massive protest rally, starting from the Town Hall to SBM Circle in Bengaluru.
Bangalore Bandh: What's Open
All emergency services will remain functional during the bandh. Here's a list of services which will remain unaffected by the strike:
- Hospitals
- Nursing Homes
- Medical shops
- Government offices
- Namma Metro

Bangalore Bandh: What's Closed
Public transport and markets will be widely affected by the bandh. Here's a list of services which will remain closed during the strike in Bengaluru:
- Shops, street vendors and other commercial establishments
- IT Offices
- App-based taxi and bike services
- Autorickshaw services
- Goods vehicles
- Hotels and restaurants
- Theatres, malls and multiplexes
- Industries
- Schools, Colleges, Educational institutes

Bangalore Bandh: Will Schools Be Closed On September 26
Schools in Bengaluru will be affected by the bandh as Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Dayananda KA in a statement said, "All schools and colleges will be closed in Bengaluru on Tuesday following a Bengaluru Bandh."
Why Is Bengaluru Bandh On September 26
The protest is being organised against the release of Cauvery water to the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. The protesters have demanded a halt on the water release to Tamil Nadu. They have appealed to the government to call a special session of assembly where a decision on stopping water realease must be taken. The Supreme Court should remove the Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee (CWRC) and the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA), they have said.
