Bengaluru metro services shall face temporary disruption on a section of the Green Line on October 3, stated the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The move comes in view of a scheduled statutory safety inspection of the newly constructed extension between Nagasandra and Madavara Metro stations. BMRCL also clarified that metro operations on the Purple Line will remain unaffected during this time.
Due to this, train services between Nagasandra and Peenya Industry Metro stations will be halted from 10 am to 2 pm on October 3.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, BMRCL said that the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (Southern Circle) will conduct the inspection of the Nagasandra-Madavara extension.
However, trains will continue to operate between Peenya Industry and Silk Institute Metro stations during the curtailment period. The last train to Nagasandra before the suspension will depart from Silk Institute at 9 am.
In another unrelated update, Kolkata Metro has revised its schedule ahead of the Durga Puja festivities. The trains will now run on the North-South line until 4:00 am and until 1:45 am on the East-West Metro’s Howrah section during the main days of Puja. The temporary arrangements will be implemented from Chaturthi to Shashthi (October 7 to 9). During these days, services will start at 6:50 am. However, on Chaturthi and Panchami, the last trains will depart at 10:40 pm, while on Shashthi, the last train will depart at midnight. From Saptami to Nabami, services on the Esplanade-Dakshineswar route will start at 1:00 pm and continue until 4:00 am.
