Namma Metro Pink Line: Namma Metro Pink Line, which shall be Bengaluru's longest underground metro corridor, is nearing completion. Currently, the project is 93.13 per cent finished, with track-laying and systems installation progressing rapidly, as per a DH report. However, commuters will need to wait a bit longer, as commercial operations are set to begin by December 2026. With a length of 21.26 km, the Pink Line will connect Kalena Agrahara in the south to Nagavara in the north, passing through the bustling MG Road. This corridor comprises a 13.89 km underground section and a 7.37 km elevated stretch. The MG Road station, situated 65 feet below ground and covering an area of 93,775 square feet, will serve as a crucial interchange between the Pink and Purple lines.

The construction of the underground segment has been particularly challenging due to Bengaluru's complex geology, characterised by hard boulders like granite and dolerite. Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) have successfully completed the 20.99 km twin tunnels, necessitating over 350 interventions to address varying ground conditions. Stations along this route are being constructed at an average depth of 59 feet, primarily using the bottom-up method, with the exception of Langford station, which employed a top-down approach. The MG Road station stands out with its four planned entrances, facilitating seamless connectivity between the Pink and Purple lines without requiring passengers to exit the station. While significant progress has been made in the underground sections, finishing touches such as plastering, flooring, and system installations are still underway.

There's a possibility that the elevated section of the Pink Line may become operational ahead of the underground segment, contingent upon the timely delivery of trains from BEML. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) anticipates reopening the section along Kamaraj Road for traffic by June. Despite these advancements, the full completion and operationalisation of the entire Pink Line have been extended to December 2026.
