Bengaluru Student Death: A 23-year-old student from Wayanad has been found dead in his apartment in Bengaluru. The deceased, identified as Mohammad Shamil, was a third-year BBA student at MS Ramaiah College in Mathikere.

Shamil was alone in his Rajanukunte apartment, as his roommates had returned home on Friday. Upon their return on Sunday, they discovered his body in an advanced state of decomposition, hanging in the room.

Local police conducted an inquest into the circumstances surrounding his death. A post-mortem examination was performed at Ambedkar Medical College. Following the examination, Shamil's body was returned home with assistance from the All India Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (AIKMCC).

The Rajanukunte police have registered a case based on a complaint from Shamil's family, including his mother Waheeda and siblings Afrin Mohammad and Tanveer Ahmed.

In separate news, a 16-year-old boy in Bengaluru died by suicide early Monday after reportedly being upset over not making his college cricket team, police said. The boy, a first-year Pre-University College student at Bangalore International School, lived with his techie father and homemaker mother in the Mantri Splendor apartment, Geddalahalli.

According to officials, he had expressed disappointment about not being selected for the team and had urged his parents to change his school, a request they declined as the academic year was ongoing. On Sunday, he left home following an argument but assured his parents he would return later.

Returning home late at night, he took his life between 1:30 am and 5 am. Police found no suicide note and have initiated an investigation.
