According to a report by NDTV, the school administration has initiated an investigation into the incident to determine whether the driver was at fault. No students or the driver were injured in the incident. The incident came a week after a school van nearly toppled on a pothole-ridden road in Bengaluru.

Locals present at the scene swiftly evacuated all the children who were trapped in the minivan through the emergency exit. People even protested against the poor condition of the roads in the city.
"That is the only way out because we pay the highest tax. Each of our flats is about Rs 2 crore in this area. But we are not getting the infrastructure we deserve," a resident had said, as quoted by NDTV.

Balagere Road Incident
Earlier, a major tragedy was averted on September 12, as a bus carrying school children almost tripped on the pothole-ridden Balagere Main Road. Dashcam footage from a car following the bus shows the driver trying to overtake another school bus from the left. As he swerved, one of the wheels slipped into the soft, waterlogged edge of the road, tilting the vehicle dangerously to one side.
Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident as the locals rushed to the scene and evacuated the children from the bus. The video of the accident was shared by a local with the caption: “A school bus carrying around 20 kids almost toppled on the crater-filled, slushy Panathur–Balagere road. Children had to be rescued through the back door. Ironically, CM & DyCM had visited and inspected this very stretch just a few months ago.”
Bengaluru’s harrowing civic problems continue to persist even though DK Shivakumar promised the residents improvements in the infrastructure. Earlier, Shivakumar had admitted that Bengaluru has at least 10,000 potholes on the roads, which made travelling for the commuters like a nightmare.
In his justification, Shivakumar said that the persistent civic problems in the city were due to the ‘rapid expansion’ of the city. "To meet these demands, we formed five corporations. And for bigger projects, we decided to bring in the Greater Bengaluru Authority," he added further.
