Bengaluru New Online Khata Service: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has introduced an online service for obtaining new property Khatas in a move to digitise property records and simplify the application process. The new initiative, supported by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, aims to make property documentation more accessible to Bengaluru's residents.The BBMP is set to issue 10,000 new Khatas, and residents without a manual Khata can now apply conveniently through the official website: https://BBMP.Karnataka.gov.in/NewKhata

A Khata is an essential document for property ownership, needed for paying property taxes and for legal purposes like applying for loans or transferring ownership. This new online system removes the hassle of physical visits and paperwork, making the process quicker and more transparent.

Bengaluru Online Khata Service: How To Apply

-Log in: Visit the website and log in using your mobile number and OTP.

-Provide Property Details: Enter the Sale/Registered Deed Number, which will be fetched electronically from the Sub-Registrar's records.

-Aadhaar Verification: Complete the verification process using your Aadhaar number.

-Submit Documents: Upload an Encumbrance Certificate, the BESCOM ID, and a recent property photograph.

-Pay Property Tax: Ensure property tax payments are up-to-date.

Once the information is submitted, it will be verified, and the new Khata will be issued online after successful validation.

Bengaluru New Online Khata Service: Caution

The BBMP has clearly stated that if you already have a manual Khata, you should not apply for a new one. Doing so could lead to legal consequences, including criminal charges. Instead, existing manual Khata holders can obtain their eKhata from https://BBMPeAasthi.Karnataka.gov.in
