Bengaluru Rain: Another round of heavy rain continued to pour on Bengaluru city on Friday through the night, causing widespread flooding throughout the IT centre and disrupting nighttime traffic. Along with uprooted trees and building leaks, the capital of Karnataka also saw heavy flooding that caused traffic jams in several areas.

A number of locals posted images and videos of the rain and thunderstorms on social media.

“Late night #BengaluruRains have started here near Dr Rajkumar Memorial on the ORR in Bengaluru. Tiny pop ups over North, CBD & Western parts of the city. One intense thunderstorm is on the verge of entering the city from NE. Let's see what's in store,” a user posted.

“What do we call this rain? Just unbelievable rains with continuous thundering in Jnanabharathi,” another shared.

“Waterlogging on the Kempegowda International Airport road in Bengaluru between Hebbal & the airport,” another post read.

City Records Lowest Maximum Temperature Since March

After almost two months of oppressive heat, Bengaluru recently saw a stunning change as the city recorded its lowest maximum temperature since March, according to the Deccan Herald.

As to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) statistics, the city's temperature hovered around 31.9 degrees Celsius on Friday, which is an uncommon event since February when it briefly dropped to that level.
