Bengaluru News: Bengaluru police have booked a private school teacher for allegedly cheating his live-in partner after she became pregnant. The woman, who filed a complaint, claimed the man had promised to marry her but fled soon after her pregnancy was confirmed.
According to officials, the accused is a physical education teacher at a private school in the city. The woman stated that she was in a live-in relationship with him following her divorce. She alleged that he had assured her of marriage, but after her medical report confirmed her pregnancy last week, he left their rented accommodation in Gottigere on September 20, taking away some of her belongings and the report itself.
The case was registered after the complainant approached the Karnataka State Women’s Commission seeking intervention. Based on its directions, the police filed an FIR under Section 29 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which covers sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means.
The Indian Express report cited Police sources as stating that, the couple had frequent discussions about marriage, but the accused allegedly delayed commitment, saying he needed his parents’ approval. “The man and his parents vacated the house suddenly on September 20. The woman then approached us with her complaint,” an officer explained.

In her statement, the complainant also alleged that the teacher possessed “thousands of explicit videos” involving other women. However, police clarified that no evidence was provided to support this claim.
Meanwhile, the accused released a video statement denying any intention to cheat. He said he had travelled with his parents to deal with a land dispute and would soon return to Bengaluru. “I don’t know why she made these allegations. I wish to marry her and live with her,” he said.
Police confirmed that investigations are underway and further statements will be recorded to determine the next course of action.
