Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a 30-year-old software engineer in Bengaluru died by suicide, reportedly struggling with ongoing health issues and the failure of his startup. The deceased, identified as Mayank Rajani, is believed to have jumped from the 12th floor of his apartment building near Kudlu in the early hours of March 4.

Originally from Lucknow, Rajani moved to Bengaluru in 2018 and was employed at a software company near his residence on Haralur Road. According to TOI reports, he had undergone spinal cord surgery and was suffering from chronic pain, requiring regular medication. His father, Manohar Lal, mentioned in his complaint to the Parappana Agrahara police that Rajani also faced periods of mental distress due to his deteriorating health.

In addition to his health struggles, Rajani had invested heavily in a startup, which unfortunately failed, leading to significant financial losses. He had reportedly used his savings and borrowed money from family members to fund the venture.

The incident took place at around 6 AM on March 4. Rajani’s apartment security guard, alerted by a loud sound, found his body at the base of the building. At the time, his girlfriend, who shared the apartment with him, was asleep in the bedroom. The police later informed Rajani’s family, who arrived in Bengaluru and filed a complaint.

While the family does not suspect any foul play, the police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“Family members believe he took this extreme step due to setbacks in his health and business,” a senior police officer stated. Authorities have confirmed that they are looking into all aspects of the case.
