Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: The ongoing metro construction near Bengaluru’s HSR Layout has caused the closure of the flyover, leading to major traffic disruptions. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is carrying out work, while the Bengaluru Traffic Police have advised commuters to use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
According to a recent social media update from the Bengaluru Traffic Police, the flyover has been closed due to the tilt of the BMRCL sliding girdle near 14th Main, HSR Layout. "Commuters are advised to use alternate routes as outgoing traffic towards Silk Board is being diverted via 19th Main," the police stated. Drivers are being urged to plan their travel accordingly to ease traffic flow.

Frustrated Commuters Call for Better Planning
The unexpected closure has already caused significant traffic jams on the Outer Ring Road (ORR), leaving commuters frustrated. Many users on social media questioned why such a major closure was not scheduled during weekends or off-peak hours to minimise the impact. One user noted, "Wednesdays are already busy with employees commuting, making traffic worse. This could have been planned better."
Other users echoed similar concerns, with one commenting, "Why can't authorities plan this better? Wednesdays are the busiest days for office workers." Several social media users also urged the authorities to provide advanced notice for road closures, allowing people to adjust their routes and schedules in advance.
Traffic Woes Across Bengaluru
As if the HSR Layout flyover closure wasn’t enough, the city is also grappling with heavy traffic in northern Bengaluru due to the ongoing Aero India show at Yelahanka Air Force Station. With the Global Investors Summit fast approaching, further traffic congestion is expected. To ease the situation, traffic police have deployed additional personnel at crucial junctions to help manage the flow of vehicles and improve commuting conditions.
