Bengaluru Police have issued a traffic advisory advising the Outer Ring Road Companies Association (ORRCA) to implement work from home (WFH) for their employees in view of likely heavy traffic congestion on August 14 due to the upcoming long weekend and predicted heavy showers in Bengaluru.

"This is to bring to your attention that heavy traffic congestion is expected on 14th August 2024 due to upcoming long weekend coupled with the predicted heavy rainfall. To minimize disruptions and avoid undue delays, it is requested to bring to the notice of the member companies to consider allowing work from home (WFH) for their employees on 14.08.2024, " the advisory issued on platform X read.

"This measure will not only reduce the number of vehicles on the road but also ensure a smoother commute for all those who need to travel. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and thank you for your understanding and support in managing traffic in Bengaluru," the advisory further mentioned.

A long weekend is approaching with several festivals and events. It starts with Independence Day on Thursday, August 15.

The celebrations continue with Varamahalakshmi on Friday, August 16. This is followed by the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. The long weekend wraps up with Raksha Bandhan on Monday, August 19.
