Bengaluru Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that Bengaluru is likely to witness its coldest December in the past few years. The weather department stated that the minimum temperature is expected to drop by two to three degrees Celsius in the upcoming few days. It further stated that the residents are also likely to witness cold waves and mist in the early hours of the day. The IMD also informed that the presence of dense fog will lower the visibility in the morning hours, leading to problems for the commuters. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines to avoid any inconveniences.

The minimum temperature of Bengaluru has been calculated at around 16 degrees Celsius; however, it is likely to drop to 12 degrees Celsius in the upcoming days. The weather department stated that the residents are also set to witness a cold wave and mist in the early hours. "The temperature will hover between 12 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius this week. However, after this week, normal winter temperature may prevail,” CS Patil from the IMD Bengaluru was quoted as saying by the Deccan Herald.

"The chill is mostly due to Northeasterly winds, clear sky, dry winds and stable air," Patil added. Along with Bengaluru, several other districts, including Tumkur, Hassan, Kodagu, and Kolar, are also likely to witness a sharp drop in temperature in the next few days.

Several southern states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh, are expected to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next few days. The IMD stated that along with the rainfall, these regions are also likely to experience thunderstorms and lightning. It further advised the fishermen to maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid inconveniences.
