Congress will hold 'Bharat Nyay Yatra' from January 14 to March 20 from Manipur to Mumbai, AICC general secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal said on Wednesday. The Yatra will be led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who will be interacting with youth, women and marginalised people.

The Bharat Nyay Yatra will cover 14 states and 85 districts. It will cover states like Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, MP, Rajasthan, Gujarat and finally Maharashtra. This is a bus yatra but there will be a walking stretch as well.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge will flag off the Yatra which will crisscross 14 states and 85 districts. The Yatra come during a period where the campaigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha election is also expected to pick up. Some of the states through which the Yatra is expected to traverse are currently ruled by parties that form part of the INDIA alliance and it is to be seen if these parties join the Congress Yatra.

"Bharat Nyay Yatra, the name itself is reflecting the objective of the yatra, 'Sabke liye nyay chahiye'...," noted AICC general secretary Venugopal.

"On December 21, the Congress Working Committee unanimously gave an opinion that Rahul Gandhi should start a yatra from East to West. Rahul Gandhi also agreed to fulfil the wishes of the CWC. All India Congress Committee has decided to hold a 'Bharat Nyay Yatra' from January 14 to March 20, from Manipur to Mumbai," K C Venugopal said.

He added., "Now Rahul Gandhi is doing a yatra with great experience from the first Bharat Jodo Yatra. This Yatra is going to interact with youth, women and marginalised people. This Yatra will cover a distance of 6,200 km. It travels the states including Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chattisgarh, UP, MP, Rajasthan, Gujarat and finally Maharashtra. The mode of yatra is through the bus..."

Meanwhile, during the AICC presser today, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh informed that on the occasion of foundation's day tomorrow a rally 'Hain Tayyar Hum' has been organised in Nagpur. All leaders and workers of the Congress party from all states will be there.
