Bihar Assembly Election 2025: In a significant move aimed at boosting youth employment, the Bihar government has finalized a comprehensive skill development strategy set to be implemented after the 2025 Assembly Elections. The initiative aims to provide technical training to more than one crore (10 million) students across the state.

As reported by Jagran.com, the training program will be offered free of cost and will be open to school and college students, as well as graduates. Participants will be trained in advanced and emerging technologies such as Drones, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science and other high-demand technical fields.

The government believes this initiative will help create a strong, skilled workforce within Bihar, aligning with the needs of the state’s expanding industrial and technological sectors.

A senior official confirmed that the plan was jointly decided upon by several departments, including the Education Department, Industry Department, Labour Resources Department, Science and Technology Department, Technical Education Department, and Rural Development Department.

The program will be supervised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the central regulatory body for technical education in India. Training will be conducted in government schools and higher education institutions, with support from private sector partners.

During a recent visit to Bihar, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development, Dharmendra Pradhan, pledged full support from the central government. He assured financial and logistical assistance and urged the state government to submit a formal proposal to expedite implementation.

Training Rollout Planned Post-Elections

The Bihar government has crafted training programs specifically targeted at youth, which are expected to be rolled out after the elections. These initiatives are aligned with the central government's emphasis on skill-based education in both school and higher education sectors.

While a fixed timeline for completion has not been announced, officials are optimistic that the program’s goals can be achieved by 2030. The initiative is also in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), which aims to ensure that at least 50 per cent of India’s youth receive skill-based training through formal education.

Vocational Courses to Be Introduced in Schools

In addition to specialized training, the state is preparing to launch regular vocational courses. For students from Class 6 to 8, vocational training will be offered to help develop basic skills. From Class 9 to 12, these courses will be introduced as formal subjects, allowing students to choose their preferred areas of interest and build career paths accordingly.
