Patna Boat Accident: At least two people are dead, and five others are missing after a boat carrying around 14 people capsized in the Ganga River near Umanath Ganga Ghat in the Barh sub-division of Patna district on Thursday.
According to eyewitnesses, strong winds are suspected to have overturned the boat midstream. Local residents and nearby boatmen rushed to the scene and managed to rescue several passengers before authorities arrived.

Speaking to news agency PTI, an eyewitness said, "There were approximately 14 to 15 people on the boat. Around seven people are feared drowned. Others were rescued using another boat. So far, it has not been confirmed how many people have drowned."
Barh SDPO Ramakrishna stated that police received notification that a small boat had overturned due to strong winds.
"14 people were on board. Seven people are reported safe, while two bodies have been recovered. Another five people are missing," Ramakrishna said.
He further stated that SDRF teams were rushed to the spot to immediately begin a search-and-rescue operation for the missing passengers.
