Jagran State Bureau, Patna | A high-level inter-departmental consultation meeting was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Development Commissioner Mihir Kumar Singh to finalise the Draft Development Plan-2047 for the Pataliputra Greenfield Satellite Township.

Members of the Bihar Urban Planning and Development Board and senior officials from various departments participated in the meeting, organised by the Urban Development and Housing Department.

The purpose of the meeting was to obtain suggestions from all relevant departments for the overall development of the proposed township. Officials emphasised the need to develop the plan in accordance with future needs.

From Employment To Health, Single Township Offers Complete Facilities

In the meeting, the Development Commissioner stated that due to rapid urbanisation, many rural areas are transforming into cities, but planned infrastructure development is lacking. In such a scenario, projects like the Greenfield Satellite Township can become a model for well-planned and well-equipped cities of the future, he added.

The official said the proposed township should not be considered solely a residential project. This requires better coordination of employment, business, education, health, transportation, green spaces, and other civic amenities, so that people do not have to travel long distances for daily needs.

Focus On TOD And Smart Urban Planning

During the meeting, Principal Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department, Vinay Kumar, gave a detailed presentation of the Draft Development Plan-2047. It provided information on proposals related to national and state-level development policy, regional planning, land use, and social infrastructure.
