A bizarre incident has surfaced during the Bihar Prohibition Constable Recruitment Examination after a candidate allegedly left the examination centre with his answer sheet at LND College in Motihari.
The incident took place during the second shift of the examination conducted on June 17. Following a complaint by an invigilator, an FIR has been registered at the city police station, and an investigation has been launched.
According to officials, Surendra Kumar Singh, a special teacher posted at the Government Upgraded Middle School in Mathurapur under Kotwa block, was serving as an invigilator in Room No. 09 at the examination centre.
After the examination concluded, candidates were instructed to submit their answer sheets before leaving the hall.
However, a candidate named Prakash walked out without giving the answer sheet to the invigilators. After the examination, the examination controller counted the answer sheets along with the attendance sheet and discovered that one answer sheet was missing.
The search for the answer sheet was carried out throughout the centre, but nothing was found. When the authorities counted again, it was found that the absent answer sheet was of Prakash. Keeping in mind the gravity of the incident, the invigilator went to the city police station and lodged an FIR demanding action.
FIR Registered, Probe Underway
City police station in-charge Rajiv Ranjan confirmed that an FIR has been lodged based on the complaint.
Police are now investigating how the candidate managed to leave the examination centre with the answer sheet despite security measures and whether there was any deliberate intent behind the act. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
