Bihar SIR: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday took a dig at the Election Commission by "thanking" the poll body after he had tea with "dead voters" from Bihar. Gandhi stated that this was a "unique experience" as the people having tea with him have been declared dead after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the poll-bound state. The Congress leader further stated that they belonged to the Raghopur constituency, from where RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav contests. While sharing a four-minute video of interaction with the "dead" voters, Gandhi stated that the opposition will not allow "poll rigging" in Bihar.

Rahul Gandhi thanks EC for "unique experience"
- In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Rahul Gandhi stated that he had a unique experience as he had a conversation with the people declared dead by the poll body. "I have had many interesting experiences... but never before have I had tea with 'dead people'. For this unique experience, thank you Election Commission!" Gandhi stated on X.
- Rahul further asked the Bihar residents how they came to know about the error, to which they replied that they became aware of the matter when the voter list was published. "But I am alive... I have come to declare I am not dead," one of the participants told Gandhi. "And sir, in one panchayat, there are at least 50 others who are not dead," he added.
- One of the participants also stated that they belonged to Raghopur (Tejashwi Yadav's seat), adding that their names were not added even after submitting the documents. "They are from Raghopur (RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's seat)...there is a flood there," the participant stated. "They were removed despite having completed the paperwork for re-verification," he added.
