The students of BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus scripted history after delivering indigenous unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to Indian Army units in Jammu, Chandimandir, Panagarh and Arunachal Pradesh. According to the Hindu report, a defence-tech startup, Apollyon Dynamics, founded by students, delivered the drones within two months of beginning operations, displaying their skill and their ability to produce indigenous unmanned aerial vehicles.
Apollyon Dynamics was founded by the students at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus and is being run by two students - Jayant Khatri and Sourya Choudhury.
Recently, the students displayed their technology on the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus before the chairman of Aditya Birla Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla. The success of the drone project highlights the vital role of the college in nurturing deep-tech innovation for national impact.
Apollyon Dynamics specialises in the design and production of custom unmanned aerial systems. These aerial system tailored for India’s defence and surveillance requirements.

Apollyon Dynamics: Students-Led World-Class Defense Innovation
The Linkedin profile of the company stated that Apollyon Dynamics is a pioneering DeepTech defense company dedicated to positioning India at the forefront of world-class defense innovation.

BITS Pilani To Invest Rs 2,200 Cr On expansion, new 'AI+ Campus' at Amaravati
Earlier this month, BITS Pilani Chancellor and industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla said the BITS Pilani will invest over Rs 2,200 crore on expansion, including an 'AI+ Campus' at Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh. In his address at the 2025 convocation of the institution, Birla reaffirmed BITS Pilani's "commitment to nation-building with three transformative initiatives", as "India aspires to become a 10 trillion dollar economy and a knowledge superpower".
Elaborating, he said the first is 'Project Vistaar' of building capacity at scale. "This project is among BITS Pilani's most ambitious physical expansions in its history. The total investment earmarked for this phase of expansion is over Rs 1,200 crore," he said. Covering the Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa campuses, the vision is to deliver new academic blocks, cutting-edge research facilities, student hostels, faculty residences, and a broad range of amenities to accelerate the creation of a truly holistic, future-ready learning environment, he noted.
