Soon after the Bhagalpur bridge collapsed, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala took a swipe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday and questioned the state government over the incident.

Taking to Twitter Poonawala posted several questions as the pool collapsed for the second time and asked how the bridge keep collapsing again and again.

"Bihar Bridge BIG BIG DISCLOSURE. How the corrupt were saved by Nitish and Tejaswi. After the Bridge collapsed once the JDU MLA himself made allegations of corruption and asked his own government to take action but HEAR WHAT TEJASWI YADAV SAYS," he wrote posting an old video of a JDU MLA and Tejashwi Yadav when the bridge collapsed last year.

In the video the MLA can be seen raising concerns about the collapse, while Tejashwi assured an investigation.

"How can bridge keep falling again and again even as cost and time keeps increasing ? Who is the contractor ? What links does contractor have with Ruling establishment ? Should there not be an independent probe? What action was taken by Nitish govt even when his own MLA raised questions," wrote Tejashwi Yadav.

"Is this not a corruption of Rs 1750 cr ? Who will repay this tax payer money. Imagine if this bridge is collapsing even before it starts how many such unsafe constructions are there in Bihar and what risk it poses to people," he further tweeted.

"This is Kushasan model of Nitish Babu," he concluded.

In another tweet, the BJP leader wrote, "Aguwani-Sultanganj bridge in Bihar’s Bhagalpur - dream project of CM Nitish Kumar collapses. This is the second time the bridge has collapsed. Imagine the level of corruption ! Rs 1750 crores of tax payer money takes Jal Samadhi with the bridge. THE BRIDGE OF CORRUPTION COLLAPSES EVEN AS NITISH BABU IS BUSY ATTEMPTING TO BE A BRIDGE OF OPPOSITION UNITY. Wait & see how Pappu Media ignores this story or somehow blames PM Modi for it."

Meanwhile, this is the second time the bridge collapsed within a year. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ordered a probe into the incident and asked to identify those responsible for the incident.

Meanwhile, the DDC informed that the incident took place at nearly 6 pm and no casualties have been reported so far.
