The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has never missed a chance to target the Opposition ever since the formation of the INDIA bloc. Be it talks on the distribution of the seats of the INDIA bloc or inside chaos, the saffron regiment has always raised a question on the unity of the alliance. In a similar incident on Sunday, after the leaders of two groups came to blows, resulting in injuries to several people during the INDIA bloc's Ranchi rally, BJP called a "quarrelsome alliance. This came after a clash ensued reportedly between the workers of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress over some issues.
Taking a swipe at the INDIA bloc, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday referred to the party as a "quarrelsome alliance." BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla also attacked the bloc and said that the rally was organised to save corruption. Two key leaders- Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, are currently in jail in link to different money laundering cases.
BJP Leaders' Remarks On Clash During INDIA Bloc's Ranchi Rally
"In the INDI Alliance rally in Ranchi today, the workers of RJD and Congress hit each other with chairs... We had already been saying that this is an alliance of personal gains. There are clashes and people are getting injured. Where is their unity? How will they unite the country when they are not united?" Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
He also added that the country wants PM Narendra Modi and a stable government, adding that people are going to jail because of corruption.
"People are being jailed because of corruption... The country wants PM Narendra Modi and a stable government. Will the country run with such a quarrelsome alliance?" he added.
Shehzad Poonawalla said "The INDI Alliance gathered in Ranchi to save the Constitution, but it was a rally to save corruption. The INDI alliance has no vision. There is only confusion, ambition and politics of division. Workers of RJD, Congress and other parties attacked each other with lathi and stones... If this is their character for seat sharing even before coming to power, then what kind of 'jungle raj' will they bring if they come to power."
PM Modi's 'Alliance Ka Alignment Bigad Gaya' Jibe At INDIA Bloc
However, it would not be wrong to say that the Opposition's bloc also consistently provides grounds for raising a question.
Launching a fierce attack on the internal divisions of the INDIA bloc during his reply to the Motion of Thanks on President Droupadi Murmu's speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that the constituents of so-called 'Bhanumati ka Kunba' lacks trust among themselves as Congress managed to throw the Opposition alliance out of alignment.
"The Congress cannot think beyond a single family. A few days ago, they put together a 'Bhanumati ka Kunba (Bhanumati's clan, meaning a group of disparate people)' but then they started 'Ekla chalo re (Walk alone)'," he said, quoting a famous poem by Rabindranath Tagore, in a jab at the INDIA Bloc and the current rift within it over seat sharing.

"The Congress has recently learned the work of an auto mechanic, so they should by now know what alignment is. But they have managed to throw the Opposition alliance out of alignment... They do not trust each other. How can they have faith in the country," he added, responding to the Motion of Thanks on President Droupadi Murmu's speech last week.
Rift In India Bloc Leaders Due To Seat-Sharing
In several states, the leaders of the INDIA bloc were not willing to compromise their seats including in West Bengal. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is fighting alone in her state. Though the TMC is part of the INDIA bloc, it does not have a seat-sharing arrangement with the other parties in the alliance, like Congress and the Left parties in the state.
Nitish Kumar Leaves INDIA Bloc
In a major jolt to the INDIA bloc, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in January, joined hands with NDA, breaking ties with the Opposition's alliance. Kumar, who took oath as Bihar's CM for the ninth time, faced massive backlash for switching sides three months ahead of elections. Notably, he was among the few leaders who took the first step to form an alliance including major Opposition parties.
Congress's 'Ek Tha Joker' Response To Bhagwant Man's 'Ek Thi Congress' Remark
In January, Punjab CM and AAP leader Bhagwant Mann, while addressing a press conference had said, "In Punjab and Delhi, mothers can tell the world's shortest story to their children - Ek Thi Congress (there was once a Congress)."
Reacting to the same, Congress leader Pawan Khera took to X and said in Hindi, "How similar are the views of 'AAP' and Modi ji!! Both of them dream of a Congress-free India. Will eat both mouthfuls. By the way, the name of a Bhojpuri picture is 'Ek Tha Joker'. You must have seen it?"
While the BJP has claimed it will form government by winning over 400 seats, the Opposition is leaving no stone unturned in sweeping victory. Several key leaders from both parties have switched parties ahead of the polls.
