Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Friday issued a stern warning to BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri and warned him of strict consequences after the South Delhi Parliamentarian hurled communal and abusive slurs against BSP MP Kunwar Danish Ali. The incident unfolded during a discussion in the Lok Sabha on the success of Chandrayaan-3, when Bidhuri was speaking and Ali can be heard interfering in his address.
Irked by interference, Bidhuri, as heard in a video going viral on social media, called Kunwar Danish Ali Ugrawadi (terrorist), Mullah Ugrawadi (Muslim Ugrawadi) and Katwa (derogatory remark used against the people with circumcised genitalia) in the Lok Sabha. Bidhuri's hate-filled remarks drew sharp reactions from the opposition and Speaker Om Birla, who warned him of dire consequences if such behaviour is repeated by him again.

I ask my friends particularly from the BJP & my friends in media - how is this language by BJP MP #RameshBidhuri calling a fellow Member of Parliament Danish Ali a “Bharwa”, “Mull@h At@nkw@d¡” ,“Mull@h Ugr@wad¡” & “K@tw@” acceptable? This was

The Speaker also expunged Ramesh Bidhuri's derogatory remarks. Notably, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed regret in the House immediately after Bidhuri's offensive comments were made.
Congress party has strongly protested against the 'Anti-Muslim' slurs made by Ramesh Bidhuri and demanded his suspension from the Lok Sabha, calling the remarks "offensive and disrespectful to all Members of Parliament."
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh expressed dissatisfaction with the apology issued by Union Minister Rajnath Singh and called the apology a mere eyewash and insufficient. He called for strong action to be taken against Bidhuri.
"It is an absolute shame what Ramesh Bidhuri has said. Rajnath Singh’s apology is simply not acceptable. It is a half-hearted apology. It is an insult to Parliament. It makes a mockery of what the Prime Minister keeps repeating, ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’. If this is not a case for suspension of Bidhuri, then what is? Ramesh Bidhuri had spoken in a language which is an insult to every MP, not just Danish Ali. The Defence Minister’s apology is just an eye wash,” Jairam Ramesh said, as quoted by ANI.
Meanwhile, BSP MP Danish Ali has also reportedly written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding action against Ramesh Bidhuri. In his letter, Danish Ali expressed deep anguish caused by the remarks and urged him to take stern action against the South Delhi Parliamentarian.

"I write to you with deep anguish regarding the speech given in the Lok Sabha by an MP of the BJP, Mr Ramesh Bidhuri, during the discussion on Chandrayaan success… During the course of his speech, he directed the most foul, abusive invectives against me, which are part of the records of the Lok Sabha. Among the words he directed against me were ‘Bhadwa’ (pimp),’Katwa’ (circumcised one),‘Mullah ugravadi’ (Muslim terrorist) ‘atankvadi’ ( terrorist) etc," he wrote in his letter, as reported by Indian Express.
"This is most unfortunate and the fact that it has happened in a new Parliament building under your leadership as Speaker is truly heartbreaking for me as a minority member of this great nation and an elected Member of Parliament as well," the letter added.
