Four months after the death of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Ajit Pawar in a plane crash in Baramati, fresh allegations have surfaced, with party leader Amol Mitkari claiming that “black magic” rituals were carried out near Vidya Pratishthan in the constituency.

Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died in the crash on January 28 along with four others.

Mitkari, a member of the State Legislative Council, alleged that an “Aghori Puja” took place near the under-construction Vidya Pratishthan AI building a day before Pawar was scheduled to visit the site.

In a post on X, he wrote, “This horrific Aghori puja conducted at midnight near the Vidya Pratishthan AI building construction. Dada was supposed to come here in the morning to inspect the building construction".

In another post, citing locals, the NCP leader alleged that before the crash, a goat was hung upside down outside Pawar’s residence in Khatlapatta, Katewadi.

“This terrifying scene in front of Dada’s bungalow in the Khatlapatta Katewadi area Local residents say that before the plane crash, a goat was hung upside down at this spot and a ghastly ritual was performed below", he said.

Raising questions over the investigation, Mitkari added, “How did people who believe in superstition attack Dada, who rejects superstition? This terrifying truth must come before the public. The fear doesn’t end here".

The investigation into Ajit Pawar’s death is ongoing, with demands for a CBI probe still pending approval.

Meanwhile, at a poll rally in Baramati, Sunetra Pawar cast doubts over the circumstances of her husband’s death, stating that the truth must come out and that anyone found guilty should face the strictest punishment.

Sunetra Pawar is contesting the Baramati Assembly seat, where a bypoll was necessitated following Ajit Pawar’s death.

The preliminary investigation into the death of former Maharashtra Deputy Minister Ajit Pawar has flagged low visibility and safety gaps at the Baramati Airport on January 28. The Learjet 45, operated by VSR Ventures, was en route from Mumbai to Baramati when it crashed while trying a second landing attempt at the Baramati Airport, claiming the lives of all five passengers on board, including Ajit Pawar.
