5:30 pm: Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on : Today's police conference established that for last 5 days the chorus that was created deliberately to blame ABVP,BJP&others, that wasn't true. It's the left organisations that pre-planned violence, disabled CCTV&destroyed server.

5:17 pm: JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh: I have full faith in the law & order of this country that investigation will be fair. I will get justice. But why is Delhi Police bias? My complaint has not been filed as an FIR. I have not carried out any assault.

5:15 pm: MHRD Secretary Amit Khare held a meeting with JNU administration&students of JNU. MHRD asks UGC to bear the cost of Service & Utility charges, JNU students will not have to bear these charges. MHRD appeals to JNU students to withdraw their agitation.

5:12 pm: JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh, after meeting MHRD secretary Amit Khare today: We demanded that JNU VC should be removed from his post immediately as he is not able to run the university. We need a VC that can help in a fresh beginning and can help in bringing normalcy at the campus

5:10 pm: JNUSU president elect Aishe Ghosh on being named as a suspect by Delhi Police in JNU violence case: Delhi Police can do their inquiry. I also have evidence to show how I was attacked.

5:05 pm: JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh, after meeting MHRD secretary Amit Khare: They have assured that they will have positive intervention in the matter and release a circular on the issue soon.

3:45 pm: Vietnam's Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau, one of 15 foreign envoys visiting J&K: I see normalcy in daily life of the people, which is a very positive sign. We have interacted with different groups and feeling from those groups is that they are very happy with the current situation. We are not a fact finding delegation and not the judges of international court. We don't have that mandate, so we just came and observed and have assessment of our own. I see signs of happiness on faces of people when I talk to them.

3:40 pm: JNU VC M. Jagadesh Kumar: Met HRD Secy today&apprised him that JNU admin is implementing record of discussions with MHRD issued on 11 Dec&that admin was making every effort to make sure that students&teachers would have conducive environment to pursue their academic activities. It was also informed that JNU wrote to UGC to meet utility&service charges. In meeting with Deans&Chairpersons, it was decided that classes would start from 13 Jan. MHRD was informed that if required,registration date for winter semester would further be extended.
