Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday took tooka swipe at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and said that the Bihar government should get its insurance done as it runs the risk of JDU supremo taking repeated U-turns.

"They call us nepotism but they have Samrat Choudhary, brother of Ram Vilas Paswan, Manjhi ji's son has been made minister, it doesn't look like any nepotism to them. Due to the U-turn taken by Nitish Kumar, it seems that the state government should get its insurance done. They say Modi ki Guarantee, but who will take the guarantee of Nitish Kumar," he said a day after PM Modi accused Congress-RJD of nepotism.

"You all know that uncle (Nitish Kumar) has turned away but may he remain happy wherever he is. From whom did you first hear about 10 lakh jobs? We respect and honour Nitish Kumar because he is our uncle but he is getting posters put up in Patna that employment means Nitish Kumar," he added.

Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the promises made by latter during the 2014 Lok Sabha election and said that his party's guarantee is only to betray the people of this country.,

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be joining 29 programmes across 12 states and union territories over the next 10 days. The list of plcaes where he is to visit ahead of the announcement of the Lok Sabha polls, include Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi.

Shehbaz Sharif returned as Pakistan's Prime Minister for the second term on Sunday. This comes after his brother, Nawaz Sharif, declined a fourth term. Shehbaz has played a critical role in keeping a disparate coalition together for 16 months after rival Imran Khan was ousted. 

During the Madhya Pradesh leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that the country had a bigger number of unemployed youths than Bangladesh and Bhutan.

"Today, there has been maximum unemployment in the country in the last 40 years. India has double the unemployment as compared to Pakistan. We have more unemployed youth than Bangladesh and Bhutan because Narendra Modi has finished small businesses by demonetization and implementing GST," Gandhi said while addressing a gathering in Gwalior. 

Rameshwaram Cafe Blast: Following an explosion at the Rameswaram cafe in Bengaluru, the co-founder and managing director of the Rameshwaram cafe chain, Divya Raghavendra Rao said that two explosions took place within 10 seconds. "The explosion happened in the area where customers wash their hands. It was nothing in the kitchen that exploded... something that was kept in a bag exploded,” she was quoted as saying by TV9 news channel. 

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Sunday took a jibe at the BJP for doing politics on the Rameshwaram Cafe blast issue and said that the state government has taken the matter seriously. 

"Police are investigating, the government has given free hand to them. The government has taken the issue seriously...It is a shame that BJP has forgotten what happened during their time, I don't like to do politics on such an issue. Let them do whatever politics they are doing. They are spoiling the honour of the state. In such a context, we should be aware of the unity and peace of the people of this country,” Shivakumar was quoted as saying by ANI.

Chhattisgarh News: An encounter broke out between  Naxalites and security forces in Chhattisgrah’s Kanker district on Sunday. 

National Highway 707 between Shillai and Paonta in the Sirmaur district has been blocked due to a landslide. 

With Lok Sabha elections just around the corner, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with a total of 195 names revealed. The announcement was made by BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawade.

During the meeting, the PM Modi-led BJP is likely to discuss the highlights of the government's performance as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) expressed confidence to retain power at the Centre for a third consecutive term under prime minister's  leadership.

With the Lok Sabha elections just around the corner, PM Modi is set to chair a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers today, marking the final such gathering during the Modi-led BJP government’s second term. According to reports, the meeting is set to begin at 10 am at the Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave in the national capital.
