The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Much to the surprise of many, the saffron party has this time dropped over 37 of its sitting MPs in the recently released list of 111 candidates.
The sitting lawmakers, who have been denied tickets this time, include Ashwini Kumar Choubey, VK Singh and Varun Gandhi. Moreover, the party has fielder prominent actors--Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil-- from Mandi and Meerut.

All About BJP fifth list:
-Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been given a poll ticket from Sambalpur. Saffron party spokesperson Sambit Patra will contest from Puri. Patra lost to BJD’s Pinaki Misra from this seat in 2019
-Anantkumar Hegde, BJP’s six-time MP from Karnataka has been dropped this time. This came days after Hegde created a row by making a remark on the Constitution
-As many as 37 sitting MPs have been denied tickets this time. Out of them, nine are from Uttar Pradesh, five from Gujarat, four in Odisha and three each in Bihar, Karnataka and Jharkhand
-Several turncoats, who recently joined the BJP, have been given priority in the fifth list. Former JMM leader Sita Soren has been fielded from Dumka against her father-in-law Shibu Soren. Ex-Congress stalwarts Naveen Jindal and Jitin Prasada have been fielded from Kurukshetra and Pilibhit respectively. Tapas Roy, who recently parted ways with the TMC, will contest elections from Bardhaman – Durgapur constituency. Kiran Kumar Reddy, the last Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh who joined the BJP last year, has been named as the candidate from Rajampet
-Kerala BJP president K Surendra has been fielded against former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad
-Rekha Patra, an alleged victim of the Sandeshkhali incident has been fielded from West Bengal's Basirhat constituency
-Atul Garg has replaced the two-time sitting MP and former Army chief Gen(Retd) VK Singh in Ghaziabad
-Varun Gandhi has been denied a ticket from Pilibhit while his mother Maneka Gandhi has been renominated from Sultanpur
-Former Calcutta High Court judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay will contest from Bengal's Tamluk
