The Centre has responded strongly to a post by a Trinamool Congress leader, alleging the venue of the G20 Summit in Delhi was flooded due to heavy rain, and said the claim was "exaggerated" and "misleading". This came after the TMC leader Saket Gokhale on Monday shared a video on his social media handle X and wrote that the venue of the G20 summit had gotten flooded due to rains. He further targeted the government, saying this is the state of infrastructure after spending 4,000 crores.

"According to this video by a journalist, the VENUE OF THE G20 SUMMIT has gotten flooded today due to rains. After spending 4000 crores, THIS is the state of infrastructure. How much of this 4000 crores of G20 funds was embezzled by Modi Govt?" Gokhale wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Responding to the video, the government said the "minor water logging" in open areas was swiftly cleared with pumps.

"A video claims that there is waterlogging at the venue of the G20 Summit. This claim is exaggerated and misleading. Minor water logging in the open area was swiftly cleared as pumps were pressed into action after overnight rains. No water logging at venue presently," the Press Information Bureau (PIB) wrote on X.

Congress party also shared the video and wrote "Hollow development exposed. India Mandapam was prepared for G20. Rs 2,700 crore were invested. The water went away in one rain..."
