A 40-year-old headmistress was charged with sexually abusing a school teacher in Injambakkam, an area in south Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The 22-year-old teacher had only joined the school five days before. She filed a complaint with Thiruvanmiyur Police Station, stating that the incident occurred on the day she was invited by the headmistress to her home for a talk on half-yearly tests. The lady said that she had drinks with the headmistress. After that, she became unconscious.

She said that the drinks she consumed had been spiked with some drug, leading her to faint. When she woke up, she found herself semi-naked and bruised. After that, she went to the police and filed a complaint. According to the Times of India, the all-women police have opened a case and begun an investigation into the situation.

After being brought before a magistrate court by the police, the accused headmistress was eventually given bail. Following the court's order, she was freed.

The police found out that the two had been meeting behind closed doors for the previous two years, according to a report by Lokmat Times. It is said that the headmistress locked the teacher in her home on the day of the incident.

In a similar occurrence in Tamil Nadu, a high school teacher was arrested for apparently sexually abusing nine female students. S Natarajan, 54, was charged with offenses under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

The girls reportedly told their headmistress and class teachers about the alleged assault, according to the police. Despite conducting an investigation, the management chose not to notify the authorities of the event.
