Chennai Love Triangle: A shocking incident emerged in Tamil Nadu's Chennai in which a group of students rammed their Range Rover into a two-wheeler, leading to one dead and another injured. According to an NDTV report, the incident first looked like a road accident, but later the probe found that the biker and the pillion were deliberately targeted. The deceased was identified as a college student Nithin Sai, 19.
The Chennai Police arrested four youngsters for murder, besides invoking other sections under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The driver of the car is still at large. Police launched a manhunt to nab the driver. One of the accused has a political link. The grandson of a DMK councillor is also arrested.
What Was The Motive Of The Alleged Murder?
According to the police, the probe found that there was a clash between two groups of students over a love affair, in which a girl was involved with the two boys, seen as the core of the issue. Chandru, the DMK leader's grandson, was sought help by one of the alleged lovers of the girl.
Later, Chandru and his friends threatened the other group, who left the scene on two bikes. Furious over the development, Chandru's group decided to chase the bikes. Venkatesan, the main target, and his friends fled on one bike from the spot. However, the students on the second bike were attacked by the youth in the car. They hit their car into the bike, killing Nithin Sai, while leaving the pillion, Abhishek, injured. Nithin died on the spot due to head injuries.
Police said the probe is underway and the accused are being questioned.
