Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has initiated the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for two significant upcoming corridors. Earlier this month, consultancy contracts were awarded for the extension of Corridor 4 from Lighthouse to High Court, and for the new Tambaram-Guindy-Velachery corridor.

These DPRs will evaluate key aspects such as route alignment, ridership forecasts, multimodal connectivity, and technical feasibility. The reports will play a crucial role in strategic planning and future implementation.
