A conflict over extra sambar at a restaurant in Chennai escalated into violence, resulting in the death of a 30-year-old man and the subsequent arrest of a father and his son. The alleged incident occurred at Adyar Ananda Bhavan restaurant on Pammal Main Road in Pallavaram. The supervisor of the restaurant, identified as Arun, was fatally injured during the altercation and later succumbed to his injuries.

The accused, 55-year-old Shankar and his son Arun Kumar, 30, had requested extra sambar with their takeout order, which the staff denied. This refusal led to a physical confrontation involving the restaurant’s security guard, India Today reported.

Arun intervened to defuse the situation but was attacked by the duo, causing him to collapse and lose consciousness. He was immediately taken to Chrompet Government Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the report said.
