A disturbing case of child exploitation has come to light in Chennai, where a couple was arrested for allegedly forcing their minor daughter into prostitution and creating obscene content that was later uploaded on the Internet to make money.

The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) filed a complaint, prompting a police investigation that tracked the couple through mobile phone data. Police seized the mobile phone of one of the accused and found several video clips of minor girls in it.

Further investigation revealed the shocking truth, the couple had forced their own daughter into prostitution and filmed her, along with other girls. The accused father sold these videos and photos online, exploiting his daughter and other minors for financial gain.

Police said most of the videos were shot without the consent of the girls through what seemed like a hidden camera, according to a report by The Times of India.

The police arrested the couple and booked them under the POCSO Act, ensuring they face justice for their heinous crimes. The accused were remanded in judicial custody after being produced in court.

In the meantime, the minor victim has been placed under government care, receiving counseling and support to cope with the trauma she endured. The couple's mobile phones and gadgets have been seized and sent for forensic analysis to uncover further evidence.

The couple was remanded in judicial custody after being produced before a magistrate court.
