Chennai Weather Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast light rain for Chennai on April 16. The capital city will see partly cloudy skies on Monday. As per the weather body, the maximum temperature will touch around 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will hover around 29 degrees Celsius. IMD has also issued a yellow alert for light rain in Tirupur, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, and Tenkasi districts for April 14.

Chennai Weather Forecast

Chennai will witness warm and mostly dry weather over the next seven days. Daytime temperatures will range between 36 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius, while nights will remain steady at around 28 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius. The sky will stay partly cloudy through most of the week, providing brief respite from the heat.

On April 16, expect a change, as light rain is forecast under a generally cloudy sky—offering some relief. Humidity levels may rise slightly midweek due to the cloud cover. No major weather disturbances are expected. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours.

In another update, Bengaluru woke up to a partly cloudy sky at 6:08 AM today and the weather is expected to remain similar throughout the day. As summer approaches, the city is gearing up for a week of unpredictable skies and occasional showers. IMD has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms in Bengaluru today, indicating that residents can anticipate rain at least until the end of the week.

The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has shared a five-day weather forecast, highlighting the likelihood of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h across the state. Scattered moderate rainfall is expected in both North and South Interior districts.
