Chennai Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that Chennai is likely to witness light rain with a gentle breeze for the next two days. The weather department stated that while the residents of the city have been experiencing scorching heat for the past few days, the weather change is likely to provide them relief. However, it clarified that the weather change will not reduce the temperature significantly.

The Chennai Meteorological Department stated that while the maximum temperature in Chennai for the next two days is likely to be around 37 to 38 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to be recorded at 28 degrees Celsius. The weather department added that winds will blow at a speed of 55 kilometers per hour in key regions, including the South Tamil Nadu coast, the Gulf of Mannar, and the adjacent Kumari Sea areas until April 22.

Apart from Chennai, the weather department also issued a rain alert for the other regions of Tamil Nadu. It stated that coastal regions of the state are likely to receive light to heavy rain in the upcoming days, leading to a slight decrease in temperature. It further advised the fishermen of these regions to follow the guidelines and not to venture into these areas, as the wind speed is likely to be high.

The weather department also stated that similar weather change is likely to be experienced by the residents of Puducherry and Karaikal until Monday. It further stated that while the heat is expected to make a comeback in the next week, the residents will get a relief for the next few days.

Apart from this, the weather department on Saturday stated that Delhi-NCR will experience cloudy skies in the upcoming few days, providing relief to the residents from the scorching heat. The IMD stated that multiple regions of the national capital witnessed light rain and cloudy skies on Saturday, leading to a decrease in temperature.
