A CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) jawan was seriously injured in a powerful IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blast in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The explosion is believed to have been carried out by Maoists hiding in the hilly forest region.

The incident occurred in Pujarikanker, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Usur police station in Bijapur. A team from the CoBRA 206th Battalion, stationed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Pujarikanker, was on an Area Domination patrol when the IED detonated.

The injured jawan was immediately evacuated and rushed to a hospital by security forces, where he is currently undergoing treatment. According to police, the jawan's condition has improved, and he is now out of danger.

Search Operation Launched

In response to the blast, security forces have intensified a search operation in the area, as it is suspected that Maoists are still hiding nearby. Authorities believe the IED was planted as part of a larger conspiracy to target a significant number of security personnel. However, their attempt to inflict mass casualties was unsuccessful.
