A 20-year-old domestic worker was killed after her boyfriend allegedly slit her throat at a park in Chhattisgarh’s Surajpur district. The police solved the case within hours as the victim, identified as Radhika Rajwade, wrote the killer’s name on her mobile phone moments before her death. The accused, identified as Ritesh Rajwade, has been arrested and is being interrogated.
What Happened At The Park
Preliminary investigations say that Ritesh had called Radhika to Nehru Park on Sunday evening. CCTV footage shows that the two spoke with each other for about an hour inside the park, after which an argument broke out. The accused then pulled out a knife and slit Radhika's throat. Ritesh thought that Radhika had died and fled the scene on his motorcycle.

However, the 20-year-old woman was still alive and managed to come out of the park. Shocked passersby assisted her and rushed her to the district hospital. Doctors found that she was completely unable to speak due to severe neck injuries. When police officials arrived at the hospital and tried questioning her, she allegedly repeatedly pointed at the officers and asked for her mobile phone.

She allegedly wrote Ritesh’s name on the phone. She was later referred to Ambikapur Medical College Hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries later that night.
Investigations Underway
Police acted promptly in the case; they scanned the CCTV footage and the call records of the victim. Soon, the officials apprehended Ritesh in the forest area.
The police are also trying to recover the weapon used in the crime and are examining digital evidence to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the murder.

Suspicion of Affair
Radhika was a resident of Latori Village who worked as a domestic help at a house in Surajpur town. According to preliminary investigations, the two had been in a relationship for the past six years. He was upset after Radhika had distanced herself from him. The accused suspected that Radhika was cheating on him.
