Jagran Correspondent, New Delhi: The members of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) assembled in Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Saturday to protest against the paper leaks of the recently conducted examinations. With posters and plates and spoons in their hands, the CJP supporters were seen sloganeering: 'go Pradhan go'. They said they would continue the protest until Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.

The Delhi Police have deployed hundreds of officials at the site and have advised the protestors to cooperate.

Earlier on Friday, Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the CJP, urged the supporters to gather at the Jantar Mantar to arrive in huge numbers to make the protest successful. He also asked them to carry a plate and spoon with them, a gesture possibly to draw comparisons with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal during the COVID-19 pandemic to clap and bang the utensils.

"All the cockroaches joining tomorrow's protest at Jantar Mantar should carry a thali and a chamach with you. You know the rest of the story," Dipke said. This is the second major protest of the satirical front in the national capital as the first such demonstration was held on June 6.

Apart from this, in an attempt to spread the movement nationwide, similar protests were held in prominent cities, including Pune, Amritsar, and Jaipur, under the leadership of Dipke. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, the CJP founder asked the center to pay a compensation fee of Rs 1 crore to the families of the students who committed suicide due to the paper leak.

"I am writing to you today with a heavy heart to bring your urgent attention to an escalating crisis that threatens the very future of our nation - the lives and mental well-being of our young students," Dipke said in his letter to the prime minister.

"The Cockroach Janta Party has been demanding the resignation of the education minister for the past month and has been protesting across the country for our demands. All that we students want is to see some accountability for the loss of lives," the CJP founder added.
