CJP Parliament March Highlights: A 2-member delegation of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Monday met Union Minister JP Nadda and handed him a letter of their demands, seeking the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. In return, the Union Minister requested the CJP to end their sit-in and assured them that he would talk to the appropriate authority in the government regarding their demands.
The CJP delegation, in their letter to Nadda, demanded the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan along with the release of activist Sonam Wangchuk, who, they claim, has been in the captivity of the police, even though he has been admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital. The CJP also demanded that the government announce Rs 1 crore compensation for the children who have died by suicide due to the NEET paper leak.
The breakthrough came after a showdown at Jantar Mantar, where police resorted to a lathi charge on the CJP protesters to stop their Sansad Chalo march. Several protesters and police officials sustained injuries during the clashes in several parts of Lutyens Delhi, including Shastri Bhawan and RBI HQ near Parliament Street.
