New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: As confirmed cases of coronavirus continues to surge in the country, several states have in lockdown as the government directed schools, colleges, and cinema halls to be shut till March 31 to contain the deadly virus. As a precautionary measure, states such as Kolkata, Jharkhand-- where no confirmed coronavirus cases have been reported-- have also closed schools and colleges till April 14. India has so far reported 125 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which includes 22 foreign nationals, the Union Ministry of Health said on Monday. Out of 125 cases, 13 of them have been discharged after treatment, while two persons from Karnataka and Delhi have lost their lives.
Here's a state-wise list of COVID-19 cases:
Delhi
The total number of cases in the national capital is seven, including death of a 68-year-old lady last week. Two of them have been discharged. The Delhi government has ordered the closure of schools, colleges, pubs, malls, gyms and cinema halls till the end of this month, along with a ban on public gatherings of more than 50 people, including the anti-CAA protest at Shaheen Bagh.
Note: Class 10 and 12 board exam in every state will take place as per schedule.
Maharashtra
The total number of confirmed cases in Maharashtra due to coronavirus is 36. Like Delhi, the state government of Maharashtra has also ordered schools and colleges in urban areas to remain shut till the end of this month.
Karnataka
A total of eight confirmed cases of COVID-19 is reported in Karnataka, including the death of a 76-year-old with travel history to Saudi Arabia. The government has ordered a shutdown of pubs, malls, theatres, cinema halls, schools, and colleges.
Kerala:
So far the Karnataka Health Ministry has reported a total of 22 cases of coronavirus cases in the state. the first three patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 have been discharged from the hospital. Like the above states, schools, colleges, theatres will also remain closed in Kerela till March 31.
Uttar Pradesh:
At least 12 cases of COVID-19, including a foreign national, is reported from Uttar Pradesh. Four patients have been discharged after receiving treatment. In the state of UP, schools and colleges will remain shut till March 22 due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Ladakh, Telangana
The newly formed union territory and Telangana have reported 4 cases of confirmed COVID-19. It includes a patient, who has been discharged receiving treatment. Schools, colleges and malls have been shut till March 31 in Ladakh.
Jammu and Kashmir
Three cases of COVID-19 has been reported in J&K. Schools and colleges in J&K have been shut till March 31.
Rajasthan
The total number of cases in Rajasthan is five. It includes three discharged patients. The remaining two are foreign nationals. Schools, colleges, theatres in the state have been shut till March 30.
Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha
One each case of COVID-19 cases have been diagnosed in the above states. Odisha is the latest to report a confirmed case of coronavirus. While schools and colleges have been shut till March 31 in Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Odisha, only primary schools have been closed in Tamil Nadu.
