The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday stated that there are currently 3961 active cases of Covid-19 in the country. The ministry stated that four people have already died after being affected by the virus, adding that the cases have increased significantly in the past few days. While providing details, it further stated that West Bengal reported 82 new cases on Sunday, maximum of all the states. The ministry stated that while Kerala registered 64 cases, Delhi reported 61 new cases in the past 24 hours.
The ministry further stated that Kerala has total 1400 active cases, highest among all the states. It added that while the total active cases in Maharashtra is 485, Delhi has reported 436 active cases.
The total active cases in Gujarat is 320 and West Bengal has registered 287 cases so far. Apart from this, the ministry informed that both Kerala and Karnataka have reported one death in the past 24 hours.
Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for Health and AYUSH (Independent Charge), advised the residents not to panic and follow the guidelines to avoid any inconveniences. He further stated that the government is fully ready to deal with any possible situation.
“Our Central Health Department and AYUSH Ministry are on high alert and closely monitoring developments across all states. We’ve held discussions with health and AYUSH secretaries and concerned ministers,” Jadhav was quoted as saying by ANI. “Our health systems are well-equipped and ready to deal with any eventuality,” he added.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated that Kerala and Maharashtra reported seven deaths since January 1, adding that four deaths were reported from Karnataka and three from Delhi. It further stated that the country has reported a total of 28 deaths so far due to the deadly virus.
