Delhi Airport warned travellers on Thursday that while all flight operations are continuing as usual, "Low Visibility Procedures" are in place due to the high levels of air pollution in the nation's capital. It is recommended that passengers consult their airlines for the most recent flight information.

"Low Visibility Procedures are in progress at Delhi Airport. All flight operations are presently normal. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information," reads the advisory.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported that the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was 428 at 8 AM on Thursday.

According to the India Meteorological Department, stronger winds may lower pollution levels, and the AQI is predicted to "improve." AQI hit the "severe" threshold for the first time this season on Wednesday.
