Delhi AQI Today:  Delhi and NCR residents continued to face high levels of air pollution as the average Air Quality Index (AQI) remained 'very poor' in the early hours of Friday. The capital city region witnessed a thick blanket of smog covering the dawn sky, with commuters and joggers complaining of poor breathing quality.

The air quality is expected to worsen even further on Sunday, however, the Air Quality Early Warning System (EWS) for Delhi, under the Union Ministry of Earth Sciences, said that it will likely remain in the very poor category.

The outlook for the following six days from Sunday suggests air quality is expected to fall within the ‘very poor’ to ‘severe’ range. Meteorological conditions remain unfavourable for effective pollutant dispersion as calm winds prevail at night, said the EWS.
